Blah blah blah blah blah ... moo fart.
EDIT:
Long story short: Won't actually be using this journal for fandom stuff. Or even much real life stuff. Or all that much updating. Rather, a disconcerting combination of all three can be found at my LiveJournal, where I'll be posting art, sketches 'n junk, the occasional review, fannish mumblings, etc.
This here journal, I.. don't really know what it's for. Mostly goofing around with real life friends (who've LEFT ME for places unknown school) in a Hey, lookit this! sort of way, I suspect. And also storing my icons. Stupid LJ with its stupid 6 icon limit....

Author and original creator of The Authority, Warren Ellis, somehow always finds the best shit. Well, usually it's just really horrific and gross, but- okay, no this isn't really any different, it's just likely to cause recoiling on a cerebral rather than visceral level. Though maybe that too.
Today, he posted this: The Westboro Baptist Church (yeah, the God Hates Fags crew) made a music video in which they collectively perform their own cover of "We Are the World", 'God Hates the World'. I'm kind of surprised that I sat through all 5+ minutes and was not, at the end of that time, lying in a pool of my own vomit. It does go on rather agonizingly long, though.
...I think perhaps that Mr. Ellis finding the post I made, saying I'd have sex with him on principle, and then commenting to it, was the bolstering source through the entire video. I figured if I didn't die of embarrassment then, then I was probably bloody invincible.
Now for YOU guys, I imagine if you've seen 2girls1cup, then you're probably bloody invincible too. Anyway, go. Watch. Bleed from your eyes. Spork your ears. Die a little inside.

I know some of you are skeptical about the Enchanted movie, but seriously y'all, it's adorable. I really wish this was the sort of princess movie/s we could've gotten when we were younger, but then this mightn't be so funny today ^_^ And true, it seems like it could be a pretty cut and dry fish-out-of-water story... until you realize that the lead character, animated Giselle's "princessness", actually follows her into real world New York.
Like this, one of my favorite clips of the movie. Amy Adams' Giselle hanging out in a park with Patrick Dempsey's Robert, who is a divorce lawyer with an almost businesslike agreement with his own fiancee, Nancy. This is also the first time he's ever been around to actually see her spontaneously break out into song XD

Ahh, Alan Menken, I missed your songs :3
Plus, check out USA Today's really good article on Enchanted and its production. ('Course, now I'm just like, what was that thing Glen Keane was supposed to be working on? Because all the stuff I'd been seeing online that was supposed to be the concept art for his feature turned up in this movie.)
EDIT: Oh sweet, someone managed to cobble together the (only existing clip of the) first song "True Love's Kiss", which is entirely animated, and gives you a much clearer picture of what sort of characters Giselle and Edward are, making seeing them in live action that much more satisfying.

I love how they animated James Marsden!Edward's mouth as he sings. He's so smug XD

Hey Rodo and Jason, need some help with a couple French verbs 'n stuff. My parents picked up a card for my grandmother's birthday in France, and I couldn't translate all of it:
Ce sont tant de souvenirs et d'expériences...Qui viennent éclairer cette journée si particulière et exceptionelle. Félicitations pour ce bel âge!

This is an amazing animated/animatic short about UNICORNS AND NARWHALS.
The Howl's Moving Castle BGM is a really nice accompaniment too. UWAAA I love the style XD
-----
Also, good news, or GREATEST news? XD (I accidentally read that as "James Marsden", which.. okay that would have been 'greatest news', which I guess makes this 'good news'. But that's better than bad; it's good!)

Okay, there's flexible, and then there's flexible. In the sense that there's sexy!flexible, and then there's.. THIS:
http://www.youtube.com/v/FrYlNNy929Y
Oh god. I wish they didn't use that awful cracking sound effect every time he did something horrific to his bones, AUGH.
Incidentally, I don't think that's what yoga is intended for. Then again, I don't even know if that dude is an ascetic whatever, or... even what the heck that clip was of.
Also, since megami_maxwell was so kind as to burn me the entire Avatar series during Yaoicon, I've been watching it nonstop. It is surprisingly good--very inventive, and entertaining, and actually very funny. Speaking of which, Anne and Rodo, what the heck did you guys do for the entire con? I didn't get to see much of you T__T And I'm sad we didn't get any photos of all of us together. Speaking of which, Toshi, SO coulda used your camera skillz there:
Me: "Rodo, here's the camera, take photos of cosplayers while I'm stuck at the table." Rodo: "Take photos of the hotel room and also of Jason sleeping in the hotel room, got it."

Marty showed us this video in our classic animation class at DeAnza, and I totally forgot until just now how fascinated I was by it. Truly, it takes either genius mind or a really really coked up one to come up with stuff like this. I mean one, it seems to work as a precautionary tale if you go by the lyrics and narrative parallels, and two, like most cartoons from the thirties, it's crackier than the view from behind the plumber.
Also, Cab Calloway = awesome.
Of course, to get to him, you have to go through Betty being abused by her father trying to force her to eat terrible plant-killing food, calling up her BFF dog and running away with him only to run into a dancing ghost walrus voiced by Cab Calloway (and with a pretty awesome bit of rotoscoping, I might add) with, like, Cab!kittens that drink their ghost kitty mama to deflation and backup skeleton dancers and backup electro-executed ghost singers and WHAT THE HELL HOW DOES ANY OF THIS GET PAST THE STORYBOARDING STAGE XD
But no, I- it's a classic bit of animation and I find it strangely awesome. I must track down "Bimbo's Initiation" now. Marty was convinced that it was a homoerotic, coming of age, phallus fear-mongering piece ^_^

Did... did JKR just, in one fell swoop, totally make up for everything terrible (e.g. the Epilogue) that happened in the last Harry Potter book? O_O
I ♥ U JKR OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
( The short story, if you don't care to wade through the article/don't want spoilers )
Totally legit, guys: It was in Leaky Cauldron. Say what you want about being unsurprised because of all the subtext; I'm still happy to see it validated!!
EDIT: HAHAHAHAHA I just told my mom about it, and she wasn't surprised in the least XD "Well, she never mentioned any women, only Dumbledore's close friendship with that one guy." "Grindelwald." "Yeah. They were supposed to have been very close, weren't they?"
My mother is, I should mention, the same woman who theorized with her sister that Legolas and Gimli were totally banging romantically involved back when they first read the books as young'uns :D
